Mankind has been using fire to provide heat for thousands of years. But it’s long way from the open fires our forbears gathered around to a modern fireplace from Morsø. A Morsø fireplace is an advanced system for burning wood and, used properly, is among the most environmentally friendly heating
solutions in the world.
When a wood-burning fireplace is used, an environmentally correct energy source is being used, because wood is a non-fossil natural product. Burning wood is CO2-neutral, in the sense that the CO2 released by combustion was bound to the tree throughout its lifetime.
Wood is moreover one of the few energy sources that are renewable, as opposed to oil and gas. We can always plant new trees to replace the ones we have cut down.
The Swan Eco-label is a guarantee for an effective Morsų fireplace with:
• a high efficiency.
• a low emission of harmful particles, of carbon monoxide (CO), and of organic connections (OGC).
• use of more environmentally friendly manufacturing materials.
• a user manual that ensures maximum potential from both wood and fireplace.
• a tested fireplace that meets strict demands as to quality and function from an unbiased institute.
• control of uniformity in the production

“The 8100 series has won a prestigious ethical living award in conjunction with women’s lifestyle magazine SHE. Readers voted in their hundreds and Morsø beat off stiff competition to pick up the coveted ‘Green Living’ award. Impressed by the 8100 series’ green credentials that include the revolutionary cleanheat and advanced combustion techniques as well its high efficiency rating, Morsø sits beside other high profile winners that include Waitrose, Jamie Oliver and Aveda. “
Morsø and standards
Morsø produces environmentally clean wood-burning fireplaces that meet the strictest environmental standards in the world, and naturally all Morsø fireplaces comply with European standard EN 13 240. This means that all our fireplaces are CE-marked. Many Morsø fireplaces are also tested in accordance with Norwegian Standard NS 3058/3059, which sets requirements for low particle emissions.
To further stress the environmental aspect, Morsø has also decided to certify most of its fireplaces under the Nordic Swan Eco-label. The Swan Eco-label is a public environmental certification that sets requirements not only for low particle emissions and high efficiency, but also ensures that the environment is taken into consideration in terms of production and packaging. The Swan Eco-label shows that these fireplaces are among those with the lowest environmental impacts on the market. |
